Join us on Friday, April 26 at 7 pm to hear Glenis Redmond and Vera Gomez deliver poems About Place. They will share what they have gleaned from their individual and familial journeys.
In Glenis Redmond’s most recent manuscript, The Listening Skin, she writes about her families’ migration from South Carolina to many points across America as an Air Force family. In this work she reckons with poverty, racism and a yearning to belong. Vera Gomez, a first-generation child of immigrants, considers herself a habitual border-crosser between her American upbringing and Mexican heritage. About Place will give the audience the opportunity to travel along with both poets through multiple cultural and emotional terrains.
