Scott Gould’s debut collection of short stories, published by Hub City Press, is one of our most anticipated books of the season. Strangers to Temptation takes us to the white sand banks of the Black River in lowcountry South Carolina during the early 1970s, a place in time where religion and race provide the backdrop for an often uneasy coming of age. In the spirit of Lewis Nordon and Welcome to the Arrowcatcher Fair, this collection is at once funny, poignant, and true.
