Join us in the store as we combine some of our favorite things, wine and books! Bryn Chancellor and her novel Sycamore joins Alan Michael Parker and his novel Christmas in July, paired with wines to reflect the deep complexity of both novels.
Through ten distinct voices, North Carolina Book Award winning author Parker charts the wreckage of a troubled teen in a small town, exposing the residents' secrets and their all-too-human hearts. Parker is on the faculty of both Davidson College and the MFA program at the University of Tampa, as well as a nationally recognized three-time Pushcart Prize winner. Chancellor also centers her novel Sycamore on the secrets that a small town offers up when the remains of a teen missing for 18 years are discovered, prompting a resurrection of the past and the mystery surrounding the youngster's death. Chancellor, an Arizona and California native, is currently on faculty at UNC-Charlotte. Both novels are character rich stories exploring the depths of human nature, perfectly paired with wine.
