Join us as we welcome local author George Singleton to our cafe on Thursday, November 17 to read selections from his newest collection of stories, Calloustown. Mr. Singleton, who’s been praised by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as the “unchallenged king of the comic Southern short story,” grew up in Pickens County, graduated from Furman and now teaches and Wofford.
Calloustown, the seventh collection from Singleton, traces the unlikely inhabitants of the titular Calloustown in all their humanity. Whether exploring family, religion, politics or the true meaning of home, these stories range from deeply affecting to wildly absurd and back again, all in the blink of an eye.
Calloustown as well as Singleton's other collections will be available for purchase and signing after the event. We expect a large crowd for this one, so come early, grab a drink and a seat. Y'all come!
