TC Boyle Writes His Worries

A million years ago, I read TC Boyle’s Tortilla Curtain.  His most recent work was included in a recent edition of The New Yorker magazine.  It’s a short story entitled “The Fugitive” and it centers around a Mexican-American man infected with a drug-resistant strain of tuberculosis, who is pursued and threatened with imprisonment for putting others at risk of infection.  Although his nom de plum has evolved from TC Boyle to T. Coraghessan Boyle, it appears that his concerns follow a common thread.  You can read an interview with the author here:
