On Artistic Solitude

I’m fascinated by the difference between extroverts and introverts.  I’m equally fascinated by the testing that places people into those camps.  As a young person, I was slightly but definitely extrovert.  As a middle-aged woman, I am nearly 100% introvert.  Did I change?  Did I just change the way I answered?  Maybe some of both?  Where does the real me fall?

I digress.

As an introvert who loves words, the idea of the role of solitude in writing is an interesting one.  Click here to read LitHub’s summary of three female writers’ discussion of this question:  Do writers need to be alone to thrive?
